What We Do

Custom Furniture Finishes and Painting

Do you or a client have a piece of furniture that needs a new look or maybe you want to create a look you’ve seen on Pinterest but don’t have the time or expertise? I’m here to help! As a certified Amy Howard finishing expert, I can do everything from sleek and bright mid-century modern pieces to muted and chippy, shabby chic heirlooms (old world finishes are my expertise and specialty).

Because of the nature of furniture painting, custom work is done in my studio. I can either use a piece that you already own, I can source one for you, or you can choose from the “previously loved” pieces I have in my collection. Prices will vary based on price of original piece (if applicable), the size and type of piece, and the finish you select. If you need some inspiration or want to see some of my specialty finishes, just go to our product gallery.

To get a quote, email me a picture of what you want, the source of the piece, and any other details you feel are important. A quote will then be sent to you and a sample board can be created ahead of time (if needed) for a fee of $100. If work is agreed upon, it will be credited toward the total cost of the commissioned piece. Revisions in scope are permitted within reason until signed agreement is complete and work commences.

Upcycled Furniture &  Home Decor

Here you’ll find one-of-a-kind furniture and decor that I have already procured, painted, and are ready for your home right now. No need to wait for custom work. Just shop now and enjoy!

Many of these pieces were made as part of my Artist in Residency program with Amy Howard at Home. All pieces are revived using the highest quality products from Amy Howard at Home and A Makers Studio. I also go to great lengths to procure high quality, older age pieces of the highest craftsmanship.

You can be sure that your purchase is not only beautiful and unique (no mass market Ikea stuff), but you’re also helping the environment by reusing something that would likely end up in a landfill.

All pre-made furniture and decor can be picked up locally or delivered to anywhere in the continental US. Please contact me directly for a shipping quote (its cheaper than you may think) if you are outside of the greater Seattle area.

DIY Supplies

Want to do it yourself, but not sure what to use? Need an idea for a gift? Here you will find all the supplies you’ll ever need to paint your own furniture and create beautiful decor for your home or special event. These items also make great gifts for the crafter in your life.

There are so many great products that you absolutely need to check out. We’ve got your basic chalk-based paints and brushes as well as furniture transfers, milk paint, chalk art, waxes, etching creams, etc. If you know exactly what you need, just go for it, but if you need ideas, please visit my blog page for project tutorials that include supply lists. You can also just peruse the sites to see what we have. I am always available for questions, ideas, and advice. Happy shopping!

Retreats & Speaking Engagements

Do you need a retreat activity with a little more meaning? Heidi specializes in a concept called Mindful Making © where participants use the art of making to connect in a special way with themselves and the Divine. So often in our busy and noisy lives, we don’t take the time to be still, quiet and listen to that still small voice. And in faith circles, sometimes we’ve only been taught to study scripture and talk rather than listen and reflect. Heidi’s sessions give participants new creative tools to be still, listen and reflect using the power of metaphor, making and art to learn more about themselves and God.

Current Offerings Include:

  • Kintsugi As a Spiritual Practice
  • Visio Divina: Connecting with the Divine through Art and Nature
  • Lectio Divina: Where Calligraphy and the Word Collide
  • Vision Boarding: Planning through guided listening
  • Word of the Year: Finding your theme and creating jewelry around it.
  • Rock Painting: a painting exercise centered on gratitude
  • Bible Journaling

Coming soon – exercises themed around:

  • Advent
  • Lent

Mindful Making © sessions usually run 2-3 hours and include all the materials necessary to complete a take home project. Given that participants represent various places and stages in their faith journey (or no faith in particular), session content can be adapted to the group’s overall place on the faith spectrum.

Prices and availability differ based on locations, project choice and number of participants. Please inquire about your special event for a personalized quote.
